Kelechi Iheanacho wins the player of the month award, for being the most outstanding English Premier League player for the month of March.
Kelechi Iheanacho wins the award on Friday 2nd April 2021, after he was nominated for the award for his goals and outstanding form so far this season, and for helping his team Leicester City, maintain their top four position at the English Premier league table and also a spot in the FA Cup Semi-Finals.
He is one of the most in-form Leicester City players, and one of the top scorers in the team.
Kelechi Iheanacho recorded his first hat-trick in the Premier League after his netting three times in Leicester City’s 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United a few days ago.
He also netted a brace against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final meetings, to help his team qualify to the next stage of the competition.
He has scored five goals in three Premier League games. He is the first player to be winning the award in Leicester City shirt after Verdy won it in 2019.
The Super Eagles of Nigerian forward beats fellow nominees to clinch the award. He was nominated on Friday 26th March 2021, alongside the likes of Andreas Christensen, Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, Riyad Mahrez, Illan Meslier, Luke Shaw and Leandro Trossard.
Kelechi Iheanacho was part of the Super Eagles of Nigeria team that defeated and broke the 8-years home record of Benin Republic national team, and the win against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos at the just concluded AFCON 2022 qualifiers.
