Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel has been rewarded for his 14 games unbeaten run in all competition, as he was crowned the manager of the month for March, 2021.

Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel is winning the award for the first time, since is arrival to the English Premier League, after taking over from Frank Lampard.

Tuchel beats fellow nominees of Brighton boss, Graham Potter, Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City and Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to cinch the award for March.

On receiving the award, Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel praised the collective effort at Cobham and cited the players as key to recent upturn in form.

‘I am really happy to have received this award and I believe it is a great achievement for everybody at the club who is involved in putting the team together to play each week,’ said the Chelsea head coach.

‘The award would not be possible if it wasn’t for the hard work of all my coaching staff and the wider support team who all push the team in the same direction, to achieve success.

‘Lastly, I want to acknowledge the hard work of the players who have given me their maximum efforts and commitment since I arrived and we hope we can keep this strong run going until the very end of the season.’

In March the Blues climbed back into the Premier League’s top four and established a slender cushion over the chasing pack. It kicked off with a big performance at Anfield, their first victory there since November 2014 sealed by Mason Mount’s stunner and a characteristically resilient clean sheet.

Four days later ,they beat fellow Merseyside opposition Everton at Stamford Bridge to secure back-to-back wins against rivals for the Champions League qualification places.

Tuchel also saw his side keep a clean sheet away at Leeds, with the Blues leaving Elland Road with a share of the spoils.

Albeit not under consideration for this award, Chelsea rounded off a magnificent March with progress in the Champions League and FA Cup, defeating Atletico Madrid and Sheffield United respectively, and resulting in not a single goal breaching Chelsea net throughout the month.

Tuchel’s start of 14 matches unbeaten is the longest such run of any manager in the club’s history and the Blues will also be going for another club record this weekend as they bid to record an eighth successive clean sheet in all competitions.
