Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has ordered for the immediate sacking of the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Mr. Lawal Daura.
Professor Osinbajo who is acting on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari who is on vacation in London, directed the termination, with immediate effect, of the appointment of the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Lawal Musa Daura, for reasons not yet known.
Though a source said the move was as a result of the event at the National Assembly this morning, where masked armed DSS officers prevented National Assembly members from gaining access to the Assembly complex, leading to some drama and condemnation by both Assembly members and Nigerians in general.
It is unclear who ordered the deployment of the armed men to the National Assembly, given that President Buhari is away out of the country, and has handed over powers to Vice President Osinbanjo before his departure.
The question now is, who ordered the DSS to the National Assembly, and if it was Daura, he could not have been acting alone, as he could have gotten the orders from somewhere, which the Presidency has to investigate…But again, like Babachir lawal asked…who is the PRESIDENCY? lol
Both Senate President Bukola Saraki and majority leader Ahmed Lawan at a separate media briefing, have asked for members to reconvene to consider some of the bills presented by President Buhari for urgent considerations and approval.
Though there were rumour of a planned impeachment of the Senate President and his Deputy, which some members loyal to the President have refuted, saying they are only sitting to consider the President’s request on INEC’s budget and other considerations towards the 2019 elections.
…more details as to reasons behind his sacking will be fully updated as we get more information…
