Dangote has been described as the most influential and powerful Nigerian even more than President Muhammadu Buhari, as Senator Ben Murray-Bruce who made this comparison, questioned behaviours of Nigerian politicians whom he said are seeking ‘Power’ through political offices.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce in his latest tweet a few hours ago, said Nigerian politicians need a fundamental change both in character and thoughts about power and being influential in society. He said:
Why do politicians think power only comes from political offices? Buhari isn’t the most powerful Nigerian. @AlikoDangote is far more influential and powerful than him. Our politicians need a paradigm shift. Don’t hold on to power. Hold on to honour and power will ever follow you.
In another tweet, which seems to be a continuation of the first one, he argued that there is a clear difference between Leadership and a politician. He said:
There is a difference between a leader and a politician. A politician is a person who uses a political platform to lead. A leader is one who uses their own self as a platform to lead. Nigeria has many politicians and few leaders. Leadership is a desperate need in today’s Nigeria.
Ben Murray-Bruce just a few days ago, announced that he was stepping down from running for a second term as a Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial zone, just so as for him to honour the zoning agreement of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Senator was the Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial zone from 2015 till date, and will not be returning after serving just one-term under the PDP.
He has also congratulated the winner of the PDP candidate who will be flying the flag of the PDP in the 2019 elections. see his tweets:
