Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom Blythe Danner suffered a medical incident while at a charity event in The Hamptons on Saturday.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom Blythe 81-year-old actress was taken by ambulance but is ‘completely fine,’ according to People magazine’s source.
‘It was early on in the event and she sat there for a while as they took her vitals. It didn’t look that bad, but they took her away anyways,’ the insider said.
Blythe was at the Springs Food Pantry’s E.A.T. in the Hidden Gardens 2024 in East Hampton, New York at the Corbett Estate.
Blythe’s representative said the actress is ‘absolutely Ok.’
A rep for Gwyneth’s company Goop told People magazine that Blythe is ‘completely fine.’
Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom Blythe is best known for her roles in Meet the Parents, Forces of Nature, The Prince of Tides and 1776.
She was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma – which is a rare type of oral cancer in the salivary glands – in March 2018.
She has had three surgeries since her diagnosis, with the third one in 2020 to removed the cancerous tissue.
Blythe has also had chemotherapy and radiation.
She had felt a lump on her neck but held off on telling anyone because she didn’t want her family to worry.
When she told Gwyneth, she was shocked.
Gwyneth said: ‘I was obviously very shocked. It was scary. And it felt really eerie because it was so similar [to my dad’s].’
In 2022, Gwyneth, 51, said of her mom: ‘My mother is genuinely one of the strongest people I know. I hope if I ever go through anything like that, I can be like her,’ she told People.
‘I wasn’t quaking in my boots. I don’t have any fear of death at all.’ Blythe said.
Blythe shares daughter Gwyneth and son Jake with Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002 at age 58 from the same oral cancer that she had.
He passed away on October 3, 2002 while in Rome with Gwyneth to celebrate her birthday when he passed away from complications from the cancer and pneumonia.
They were married for 32 years until his death.
