Mr Garba Shehu and Reno Omokri seem to have just renewed their Twitter war of words, as the Senior aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, questioned the source of the $20,000 prize money that has been offered to him by Reno Omokri, if he can prove to Nigerians that Nigeria is safe.
Mr Garba Shehu who was reacting to a challenged posed to him by Reno Omokri, who himself is a former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, said if the money being put forward by Reno is the one he made from Leah Sharibu, the Boko Haram kidnapped schoolgirl, he will not touch it. He said:
“If this is the money from the collections made in the name of Leah Sharibu, the unfortunate Christian girl stolen by Boko Haram, I won’t touch it with a long. Please keep “your USD20000”, he said.
The reply from Garba Shehu came after Mr Reno Omokri called him out on a statement credited to him, where he allegedly said that President Buhari has made Nigeria safer. The statement comes after the kidnappings in Katsina and the continuous killings in Northern Nigeria.
Reno Omokri had on Wednesday 23rd December Tweeted on his official Twitter handle challenging the Senior Personal Assistant to President Buhari to spend a night without security in Koshobe or Kware to prove to the world that Buhari has made Nigeria safer.
He even said the challenge will be verified by an independent journalist, and the $20,000 prize will be given to Dele Momodu when Garba agrees to take up the challenge. He said:
“Garba Shehu said General Muhammadu Buhari has made Nigeria safer. I vow to pay Garba Shehu $20000 if he will spend a night without security in Koshobe, or Kware, verified by an independent journalist. I will give the funds to Dele Momodu when Garba accepts to go,” he added.
