IPOB which stands for Indigenous People of Biafra is on the news again, and this time for all the old reasons, which a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Femi Fani-Kayode a few hours ago, declared that the group will ‘never die’.

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode though a Yoruba man has made it his business to keep the struggle alive for his alleged friend Nnamdi Kalu, whose whereabouts is still yet unknown.

While reacting to the alleged arrest and detention of some women who were allegedly demonstrating peacefully and asking to know the whereabouts of the self-acclaimed leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kalu, before they were arrested by the Nigerian Police, said no amount of arrest, detention and intimidation will stop IPOB. He also called the arrest and detention of the IPOB women, insensitive, mad and cruel by the Police.

Fani Kayode has never hidden or denied his relationship with the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kalu, as during his trial days in Abuja alongside other of his members, he made it a duty to always be at the court proceedings, even after his bail.

His first reaction on Tuesday after the news was reported, was this on his social media page:

“It is only in a mad, cruel and insensitive society that women can be arrested and detained in horrendous conditions just because they went on a peaceful demonstration asking for the whereabouts of Nnamdi Kanu.Kudos to Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor for his efforts to get them released.”

Also, the protest is coming after the Nigerian Army warned that it was going to begin the third phase of Operation Phyton dance in the South East and other similar operations in other parts of the country to warn those planning any heinous activity to stare clear.

This same Operation Phyton dance was what brought down the IPOB group who had 12months ago, threatened to pull down Nigeria. It only took one armoured carrier and the dancing troops to dislodge the group and their leader Nnamdi Kalu alleged disappearance.

Though security agents are yet to comment on the alleged arrest of the Abia women, Chief Fani Kayode whose wife hails from Abia state has thrown his weight behind the federal government proscribed terrorist group IPOB.

This morning again to show support to the IPOB group which has been proscribed as a terrorist group, as the Federal Government under the President Muhammadu Buhari sees their activities as similar to those of other terrorist groups, said:

“It is only in a cruel and insensitive nation that women can be arrested and detained in horrendous conditions just because they asked for the whereabouts of Nnamdi Kanu. Where are the Igbo leaders?IPOB will never die! Kudos to Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor for his efforts to get them out!”
