Sarthe pet store fire has left at least 157 pets and over 4,000 fish dead in France on Sunday, AFP reports.
According to the report, gendarmerie which confirmed the incident, announced that the Sarthe pet store fire happened on Sunday in La Chapelle-Saint-Aubin (Sarthe), near Le Mans, killing 157 pets and more than 4,000 fish.
“The whole building was burnt out. About 950 m2 of the store burned down,” the gendarmes said, adding that the disaster did not cause any injuries.
The origin of the fire remains to be determined. “All the analyzes are in progress,” added the gendarmerie, while an investigation was opened.
According to the Sarthe firefighters, the fire broke out shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, mobilizing 35 people and around fifteen vehicles.
