A photograph has surfaced online of some members of the Akwa Ibom State house of Assembly with the Governor of the State, Udom Emmanuel as they have alleged to be backing the Governor amid Senator Akpabio’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The photograph which was put up by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on their social media page, said the members who are of the PDP, stormed the Government House Akwa Ibom to give the governor a vote of confidence against the speculations of defections making the rounds in the state.
The members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly were said to have paid the unscheduled visit to Emmanuel to reaffirmed their support and solidarity against the planned move of their leader and former Governor Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Udom Emmanuel who was the former Secretary to the State Government under Senator Godswil Akpabio’s administration as a Governor, and was later in 2015 made Governor by Akpabio, will be facing his biggest political test and loyalty in the next few weeks, as his alleged godfather Akpabio prepares to jump ship to the ruling party APC.
The question now is, will Governor Udom jump ship with his political leader, or remain in PDP and fight it out with the man Akwa Ibom see as the father of politics in Akwa Ibom?
I cannot wait to see the move Udom Emmanuel makes. Whichever he makes, Senator Akpabio still hold the sword….lol…Politics in Akwa Ibom getting interesting…
