Tennis Champion Serena Williams is feeling guilt as she admits she does not feel like a good mom to her daughter Olympia.

The multiple Grand slam winner took to her social media page to say that being a mother and also trying to keep her career going is a tough job, as one has to suffer for the other to keep going.

She said in her case, it has been her baby Olympia, as she keeps spending little time with her as she prepares to get back to tennis fully.

Serena Williams a few weeks back, burst into tears on learning that her daughter Olympia took her first step at walking and she was not present to witness that precious moment. She said it was a sign that she is missing everything she would have loved to share with her daughter.

She said it is the most difficult thing she has ever experience as a mother and woman. So, she has decided to share her experience with others who might be facing the same challenges as her, that they are not alone.
This is Serena’s first experience as a mother and her first childbirth and somehow she is finding some of the mother’s duty strange.
She put up this post to share with her fans that they are not alone:

“Last week was not easy for me. Not only was I accepting some tough personal stuff, but I just was in a funk. Mostly, I felt like I was not a good mom.

I read several articles that said postpartum emotions can last up to 3 years if not dealt with. I like communication best. Talking things through with my mom, my sisters, my friends let me know that my feelings are totally normal.

It’s totally normal to feel like I’m not doing enough for my baby.

We have all been there. I work a lot, I train, and I’m trying to be the best athlete I can be.

However, that means although I have been with her every day of her life, I’m not around as much as I would like to be. Most of you moms deal with the same thing. Whether stay-at-home or working, finding that balance with kids is a true art. You are the true heroes.

I’m here to say: if you are having a rough day or week–it’s ok–I am, too!!! There’s always tomm!”
