English Premier League side, Manchester United are said to be interested in German and Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng.
According to a source, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United who have been sweating to land a defender so far in this transfer window, after they were turned down by both Leicester City and Spurs for their players, they are now rumoured to have approached Bayern for a possible deal for their big centre-back Jerome Boateng.
Manchester United already have the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof, and Eric Bailly to pick from, but manager Jose Mourinho still does not feel his back-line are strong enough for the competition in the premier league, especially from Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea.
The Portuguese who will be going into his third season as a United manager, will be looking to do the impossible and win the league, after two failed attempt, and a defender such as Boateng, could give them that strength at the back to achieve that aim.
So far, Jose Mourinho who will be kick-starting his 2018-2019 Premier League season against Leicester City on Friday has failed in his bid to land the likes of Harry Maguire from Leicester and Toby Anderweireld from Tottenham and will be hoping to kick off the new season with a positive result against previous Champions and a difficult opponent in Leicester City .
It is unlikely Jerome Boateng makes the switch from Bayern to Manchester United, given his previous experience with Manchester City, before returning to Bayern. But with a good wage package and all other endorsements, the big centre-back could give Premier league another try.
