NOOOOO. THATS NOT MY PORTION. I did not work my way up the food chain to become a veggie, because some people we voted into office, do not realize that their inaction and failure to take decisive action, has given some criminal elements the effrontery to live above the law. Where in the world does making your OWN business to grow mean you can trample on mine? Even in cases of overriding public interest, the owners of affected business, are thoroughly compensated with apology for disrupting their businesses. Let’s say Emeka goes into transportation and starts to park his luxury buses on the major streets of IKeja because he couldn’t be bothered with getting a piece of land that he can use as a bus park, and we should allow him block the whole roads because his personal business is providing services. Boycotting bus services is not the right action. LETS MAKE THE TRAFFIC AGENCIES DO THE NEEDFUL. Which is to impound all the vehicles and or make them go get a bus park. It’s private business. It’s not NYSC. Or NNPC. Even if it’s a government agency, you can not inconvenience other people just to do your business. This attitudinal template of letting criminal elements get away with murder is why we are where we are. Police will shoot, beat and dehumanize citizens, no consequences. Soldiers will raze down a Police station, no heads will roll. Legislators will assault fellow members, no motion to correct it. Civilian will kidnap a sitting Governor. Chief security officer of a state. Nothing. Herdsmen are on a killing spree, and the IGP and his adjutants are still receiving salaries. Until the right thing is done by those voted into office to do So, boycotting meat is not in an ordinary man’s court. It’s a failure of leadership. It’s not a fitness programme. Where is my killing’shi?
