Love Island star Harry and Shakira have given their first TV interview since they exited the popular reality TV show as runner up.
According to the report by DailyMail, Harry in the interview, revealed how things have really been left with Helena Ford on Friday morning.
Harry and Shakira, who came runners up during this year’s finale on Monday night, appeared on ITV’s Lorraine to speak to stand-in host Christine Lampard.
As they settle into their newfound fame, Christine quizzed Harry on what his relationship with Helena is like now since leaving the villa
The professional footballer said: ‘I think I definitely handled things in the wrong way but at the end of the day Helena and I are moving forward as friends.
‘We haven’t spoken on the outside but had a couple of conversations before she left. I’m delighted it’s amicable.’
He also reflected on being confronted with his Ex Emma in Casa Amor.
‘I was buzzing for Casa Amor, it was the promised land, we were training for it like it was the World Cup final, working out every day,’ he recounted.
‘When I saw her I put my head in my hands. She gave me a few home truths.’
Harry had the quickest Hideaway sleepover ever after he spent the night with air hostess Helena just 56 hours into the ITV2 series — even though they were not coupled up.
The hunk had even asked Helena to become exclusive in the villa, but found himself coming back to Shakira.
After breaking Helena’s heart, Harry soon found himself back in the arms of Shakira when Helena called it quits with him.
Gushing over Shakira, Harry told Christine: ‘Speaking to Shakira one on one, it was natural. I’d buried a lot of emotions for her and it all came out. I’m so glad I stuck my neck out.’
He also clarified his relationship status before heading in the villa.
‘I couldn’t have been more single going into the villa, but I was dating and seeing people. I only told four people I was going in,’ he said.
However, when the Northern Irish presenter pushed on whether they had made things official, Harry cautiously replied: ‘I don’t think exclusive is such a big thing on the outside world.’
‘When we rekindled I only had eyes for Shakira and that hasn’t changed.’
In an honest admission, Shakira said: ‘Having to watch him with Helena every day was so tough.
‘In the outside world you have a bit of distance but they’re in the bed next to me. I was buzzing for Casa Amor when it happened.’
Harry has not properly met the marketing professional’s mother, aside from their tense run-in on the show, when she famously refused to hug him.
Shakira said of the moment: ‘The meet with my mum went better than we thought it might! She’s on holiday at the minute on a cruise.
‘She’s warming to him, she wants to meet him, sooner rather than later.’
Meanwhile, ITV have revealed the voting breakdown for the four couples that made it to the final, with the figures confirming it was the narrowest win since the show launched in 2015.
In total, Toni and Cach received 33.5% of the vote, with Shakira and Harry taking 26.2% – showing the result was a close call.
Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes came third with 22% and Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood placed fourth with 18.3%.
With just 15% between fourth and first place, it’s the closest final vote in history.
