Naira Marley arraigned in a Lagos high court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged credit card fraud.

The ‘Japa’ music crooner, appeared in Court on Monday spotting a white T.shirt and a black pant, accompanied by the officials of the EFCC. His family members watched on as he was being escorted into the dock, but his mother could not hold back her tears spotting her child being led into the courtroom at about 9: 46 am inside the heavy downpour in Lagos.

According to reports, the Monday proceeding was however stood down by Justice Nicholas Oweibo upon commencement due to the absence of the defence team. This made the court to adjourn sitting till May 30th when the musician’s application for bail will be heard.

Naira Marley arraigned by EFCC on an 11-count charge credit card fraud and risks seven years in jail if found guilty in accordance with Section 33 (2) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.

The charge with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 was filed before a Lagos State High Court last Wednesday.
