Suspected Cable Thief Arrested By In Lagos

A suspected cable thief has been apprehended by a local security operative in Lagos, the Police authorities in the state said in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement released by the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday 10th March 2024, the suspected cable thief identified as 25-year-old Emmanuel Ikoka was apprehended by a vigilant security officer around the Ikeja area of the state.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin who shared a photo of the suspect on his official social media handle, while asking Lagosians to safeguard their buildings under construction, stated that the suspect was arrested while he was emerging from a building under renovation in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

The suspect was caught with lots of electrical wires he ripped off the building. Investigation is ongoing.
