Roy Hodgson is receiving medical attention after falling ill during a training session at Crystal Palace’s HQ.
The 76-year-old head coach Roy Hodgson suffered the worrying episode as he put his team through their paces ahead of Monday’s clash at Everton on the training pitch at the club’s Beckenham facility.
‘Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session,’ read a statement.
Players and staff were said to be visibly concerned by the incident.
Mail Sport revealed on Wednesday that Hodgson is set to lose his job as Eagles boss following a run of three wins in 19 matches.
Chairman Steve Parish originally wanted to stick with Hodgson until the end of the season, but the veteran manager’s position at Selhurst Park has been uncertain for a number of weeks amid a run of just three wins in 19 matches in all competitions.
Discussions are now underway over who will replace Roy Hodgson.
Co-owner John Textor is understood to be pushing the merits of Glasner and would back his appointment.
Glasner first held talks with leading Eagles officials last summer when the club considered alternatives to Roy Hodgson, who was eventually given a new 12 month contract.
Discussions with Glasner are ongoing. Former Middlesbrough and West Ham defender Emmanuel Pogatetz could return to the Premier League to become part of Glasner’s coaching team.
Kieran McKenna, Steve Cooper and Julen Lopetegui have also been sounded out.
