The 21-year-old farmer suspected of having killed Justine Vayrac admitted the facts but claimed that they had had consensual sex. An assertion contradicted by the autopsy report confirms that the victim was raped, AFP.
A month after the murder of Justine Vayrac, the circumstances of the crime become clearer. According to information from BFMTV, the autopsy carried out on the young woman concludes that she was raped on the evening of her death. This new element undermines the version delivered by the main suspect, Lucas, a 21-year-old farmer who crossed his path near a nightclub in Brive, Corrèze, on the night of October 22.
While in police custody, he first admitted having returned home with Justine Vayrac and having raped her under duress by a third person, before going back on his statements and asserting that it was consensual sex. He then recounts punching the victim, who was struggling, then burying his body in the forest.
A murder committed in less than 1h30
According to the report, the young man – indicted for murder and remanded in custody – carried out his criminal purpose in less than 1h30. According to his route reconstructed by the investigators, the suspect arrives at his home with Justine Vayrac at 4:38 in the morning. This is where he rapes his victim, beats her and then kills her by strangulation, according to the autopsy.
An hour later, at 5:32 a.m., he transports the body of the young woman – mother of a two-and-a-half-year-old child – to a forest, not far from her home. Then he goes home and cleans up the crime scene. Traces of blood will however be found in his room as well as in his car.
Was the victim drugged?
Finally, the suspect – presented as an “acquaintance” of the victim – returns to the place where he left the body to bury it using an agricultural machine. He will end his evening with another friend, picked up around 6:00 a.m. and brought back to her home.
The toxicological report is still awaited in order to determine if the 20-year-old victim could have been drugged before the murder. Justine Vayrac had indeed left the nightclub because she felt bad, explained the friends with whom she spent the evening.
