The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arraigned a suspect over an alleged N16million land fraud in Enugu State.
The anti-graft agency in a statement released on Friday 10th December 2021, stated that the suspect in the land fraud case identified as one Christian Okonkwo Aniagu, was arrested by the Enugu Zonal Command of the agency.
The Zonal Command thereafter on Thursday, December 9, 2021, arraigned the land fraud suspect before Justice I. M Buba of the Federal High Court Sitting In Enugu, on a three-count charge bordering on obtaining N16m ( Sixteen Million Naira) by false pretence.
The suspect Christian Okonkwo Aniagu, allegedly sold plots of land purportedly located at Ugwuaji to one Emmanuel Chukwu Ejiofor who later discovered that the land in question does not exist. And, all attempts to retrieve his money from the defendant proved abortive.
