I feel Bolaji Abdullahi is that typical Nigerian ‘driver’ that will do a reverse on a roundabout and still claim his right…lol… I just love the political drama going on right now in Nigeria…
I mean after the rumour spread yesterday that he(Bolaji) has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the announcement by Senator Saraki and Kwara State Governor that they have resigned their membership of APC, Mallam Bolaji denied ever saying he has left APC in a statement released yesterday.
He debunked the rumour, saying, even if he was going to leave, it will be through the ‘front door and not backdoor’…lol
Well, finally, the National Publicity Secretary has finally announced his defection from the party through the ‘open door’.
Bolaji in a statement he released online, based his resignation on issues of inconsistent ethical standards, and questions about his loyalty to the party, and also his views being second-guessed due to his political affiliation by the leadership of the APC.
In a statement he released a few hours ago on his social media page, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said:
“In view of recent political developments in the country and within the All Progressives Congress (APC), I have decided to resign my position as the National Publicity Secretary as well as my membership of the party with effect from today.
In the last few days, I have had to endure the flagrant usurpation of my role as the spokesman of the party in a manner that I consider unbefitting of a ruling party and inconsistent with my ethical standards.
I have served the APC honestly and to the best of my ability and when I stood for and won my election at the last convention, it was a keen desire to continue to do so.
However, in a situation whereby my loyalty is constantly brought into question; my subordinates deployed to subvert my office; and my views constantly second-guessed on the basis of my political affiliation, it has become imperative for me to review my position.”
