Senator Shehu Sani has been reminded of his transistor radio sets which he distributed as a Senator to his constituency, as an initiative to reduce poverty in his then Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone.
Shehu Sani who has been a major critic of the Federal Government, while reacting to the N5,000 conditional cash transfer on Tuesday, (which will not be the first time), said “lifting 20Million Nigerians out of poverty with 5k will be miraculous”.
It seems the Senator forgot he was on the Nigeria Twitter street where people hardly forget, and not that of Uganda. As on the Nigeria Twitter street, if you are coming for someone or a group, you better come prepared, if not, your hypocrisy will be fully exposed. This was what happened to the Senator, as one of his followers a few minutes after he made the tweet mocking the initiative of the President, tweeted saying:
“Improving The Standard Of Living Of Your Constituents With Transistor Radios Is Historical”, the follower said.
I believe that must have hurt, but the Senator being a good sportsman, would take that on the chin and move on to his next Presidential dig…lol.
In case you are still lost about the Transistor Radio sets, Senator Shehu Sani while a Senator and fighting for a second term ticket, and campaigning for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari distribution over one hundred thousand transistor radio sets in seven local government areas under his senatorial district.
The Senator while distributing the transistor radio sets back then, had said:
“We come from the part of the country where the major and most important source of information is the radio. “Radio is an empowerment, a form of education and enlightenment.
”It enables people to have access to information and also have an opportunity to express themselves,” he said.
According to him, radio has for decades been the only medium where people in the North get better informed.
“I am sharing it to downtrodden within the cities and the rural areas so that they would be abreast with what is happening within their own locality, national and state,” he said then.
Unfortunately for Senator Shehu Sani, the Radios were used to listen to how he was dumped by his former political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the help of Governor El-Rufai.
