The immediate past Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki is mourning the death of Cross River Commissioner of Police, who also was a son of the Ilorin Emirates, Abdulkadir Jimoh.
Senator Saraki who has had a very rough few weeks, as this latest sad news is coming just a few days after the death of his inlaw, Dapo Ojora.
The Senator taking to his official Twitter handle on Friday 18th December 2020, retweeted a post about the sad news, with a caption to commiserate with the family left behind, and the entire people of Kwara State. He said:
“The passing of Mr. Abdulkadir Lanre Jimoh, the Commissioner of Police of Cross River State is a great loss, not only to his family and friends, but to the people of Ilorin, Kwara State, and the Nigerian Police which he served meritoriously for many years
It is my hope and prayer that CP Jimoh will always be remembered for his dedication to his primary duty to serve and protect the lives of all Nigerians, and his commitment to making the police better. He will be sorely missed,” he tweeted.
The Cross River State Police Commissioner, Mr Abdulkadir Jimoh died in the early hours of Friday, a few hours from receiving an award. He was 56 years old.
Mr Abdulkadir Jimoh was from Ilorin, Kwara State and died at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, of suspected COVID-19 complications. But Doctors, however, said he died of pneumonia.
