President Buhari’s daughter has finally rejoined her family, after completing the mandatory 14-days isolation exercise, for a suspected coronavirus case.
The First Lady, who a few days ago had announced to Nigerians that one of her daughters who had returned from the UK being among the high burden listed countries of COVID-19, was advised to self Isolate, even though she was not displaying any symptom of the virus, gave an update on her daughter on Thursday 2nd April 2020.
Taking to her official social media handle, the first lady shared a photo of her daughter and herself in a warm embrace, with a caption that reads:
“It is a thing of joy & gratitude to Almighty God to reunite with my daughter after she had been in isolation for 14 days immediately she landed in Nigeria. While I’m wishing all those infected for a speedy recovery, I pray for the end of this pandemic. .#AbujaScaleUp, she captioned the photo.
Although no name was given, the First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari who broke the news to Nigerians a weeks ago on her social media handle, had said this when her daughter first arrived Nigeria:
“Good afternoon Nigerians,
Earlier today my daughter returned from the UK being among the high Burden listed countries of COVID-19.
Based on the advice of the Hon. Minister Of Health, Presidential Taskforce on COVID – 19 and that of NCDC, She is on self Isolation, not because she displayed any symptoms of the Covid-19.
Please I urge all parents to do the same if possible. Prevention is better than cure,” she opened a short note.
Stating further, Mrs Aisha Buhari said she has shutdown activities in her office, saying, “Similarly, I have shut down my office for two weeks with immediate effect while essential staff can work from home as a result of some Staff who recently returned from the UK”.
“I commend the North-Western Governors including Niger and Kwara on preventive measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 at their security meeting yesterday in Kaduna.
And let’s keep following the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC which encourages maintaining social distancing, high hygiene culture through regular washing of hands with soaps and sanitizers.
Let’s adopt preventive measures and ensure the safety of our families and that of the General public.
We will overcome the Covid-19 pandemic if we all take the necessary precautions at the same time!
