Mrs Rashida Yahaya Bello who is the first lady and wife of the executive governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello, has shared a glowing tribute to her mother-in-law, Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello.
The late Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello who is the mother of Governor Yahaya Bello, died on Sunday evening after a brief illness. She died at the age of 101.
Mrs RAshida Yahaya Bello taking to her Instagram page, shared a photo of Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello where she extolled her virtue, as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend, saying:
“Your love and concern for each member of our family were superb, second to none. You shared a special bond with all your children especially my husband. It is that bond coupled with your rare wisdom and values that have been the glue that bound the family together,” she said.
Mrs Rashida Yahaya Bello continued by touching on how the late Mrs Bello had raised a great son in her husband, where she said:
“To your son, my husband, you were his best friend, his confidante, you were one who loved him truly and purely. Knowing how to correct him, guide him, guard him and protect him was a power you wielded even till death. You were firm, kind but not weak in the values you instilled in your children
Your grandchildren and great-grandchildren are all well nurtured and trained because of the impact you had in their lives. You always told me exactly how you wanted things to be done, from the smallest to the biggest.
The love, support and guidance you have given me is unparalleled and it breaks my heart that I won’t hear your voice giving sound words of advice anymore” she added.
“To say that we will miss you is an understatement, for me, you have left a big hole in my heart and in the family a big void that can never be filled.
It is with a really heavy heart we bid you farewell our dear great mother, you were an embodiment of love, strength, comfort and greatness in our family,” she said.
Mrs Rashida Yahaya Bello in closing her tribute added:
“I take solace in the fact that you have lived a gracious life.
A life worthy of royalty. You are gone now not because of a lack or need but because it is ordained by Almighty God. I pray that your gracious life extends to the hereafter. Rest well Onyami (my mother),” she concluded her tribute.
The death of the late Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello, was announced on Sunday by the Kogi State Government, in a statement released to the Press on behalf of the Governor and his entire family.
The announcement of the death of Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello reads:
“ANNOUNCEMENT!
INNA LILLAHI WAINNA ILLAIHI RAJI’UN
With total submission to the will of Allah, on behalf of the family of Alhaji Bello Ipemida Ochi, We regret to announce the passing away of our matriarch, Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello who answered the call of Allah this evening after a brief illness.
We are relieved that her passing was peaceful and painless. Her funeral will be held today at Her resident in Nagazi, OKENE Local Government Area of Kogi State in accordance with Islamic rites.
Until her death, she was aged 101 and survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many adopted children.
