The Senator representing Lagos East in the National Assembly, Senator Adebayo Osinowo, is dead.
Senator Adebayo Osinowo died in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness. He was aged 64.
Senator Adebayo Osinowo popularly known as (Pepperito), an All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwart and lawmaker, was a former member of Lagos State House of Assembly for 16 years. Osinowo succeeded two-term Senator Gbenga Ashafa at the Senate.
Osinowo was said to have died of COVID-19 complications, there were conflicting reports that he had been at the special intensive unit of Lagos cardiologist centre, Ikoyi, on COVID-19 treatment.
Another report had it that three days earlier, he was taking in at the Yaba Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) before his death on Monday, June 15th.
Senator Osinowo had his primary education at St. Augustin Primary School in Ijebu-Ode and his Secondary Education in Issoyin Grammar School, Isoyin
He was Managing Director at NIMCO International Co. Ltd from 1990 to 2003. He also worked as Managing Director, at Extreme Piling and Construction Company Ltd and NIMCO Dredging Company from 1990 to 2003.
Osinowo served as a Youth Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Third Republic, which kick-started his political career
Osinowo was a four-time member of the Lagos State House of Assembly where he served from 1999-2015.
