English Premier League club side, Arsenal has on Saturday 31st August 2019 confirmed the departure of one of their longest-serving player, Nacho Monreal to La Liga side, Real Sociedad on a permanent deal.
Nacho Monreal transfer to Real Sociedad has been confirmed by both clubs, but we are not sure whether the player would delay his move to Spain until after the crucial game against Spurs on Sunday. He has already signed a two-year contract deal with the La Liga side and should be unveiled to fans by monday after his medicals with the club.
The move sees the Spanish left-back returning to Spain after almost six years since joining Arsenal from Malaga in January 2013. He made 251 appearances, scoring 10 goals.
In the statement released by Arsenal confirming his departure, the club had this to say:
“During his time with us, Nacho played in his natural left-back position and also in central defence. He won three FA Cups, three Community Shields and played a big part in our run to the Europa League final last season.
A full international since 2009, Nacho was part of the Spain squad at the 2018 World Cup. He’s made 22 appearances for his country.
We would like to thank Nacho for his contribution to the club and everyone at Arsenal wishes him the best for his future” the statement said.
