Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has finally been presented with his pitch award as the Football Friendly Governor for the year 2018 by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Governor was presented with the pitch award by the President of NFF, Mr Amaju Pinnick at the Government House in Asaba Delta State on Tuesday 11th June 2019.
The Governor won the pitch award for Football Friendly Governor, as since he took over office as Governor, the Asaba Township Stadium has hosted a lot of games involving Super Eagles, that the stadium is now being referred to as the home of the Super Eagles. It was their camping base before they departed for Egypt for the 2019 African Nations Cup competition a few days ago.
The 6th edition of the Nigeria Pitch award ceremony took place on Saturday in Asaba, after the International Friendly game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Warriors of Zimbabwe which was attended by many dignitaries.
