Governor Fayemi signs 8 bills passed by Ekiti Assembly into law

Governor Fayemi signs 8 bills passed by the Ekiti State House of Assembly into law, as the Governor despite the holidays, took out time to make sure he signed the bills before the members of the outgoing Ekiti 5th Assembly who were all gathered to witness the event.

The bills passed by the 5th Ekiti State Assembly and signed into law by Dr Fayemi on Tuesday morning, are:

1. Ekiti State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (EKDIPA) Law 2019

2. Ekiti State Administration of Civil Justice Law 2019

3. Ekiti State Property Protection (anti-land grabbing) Law 2019

4. College of Agriculture and Technology, Isan Ekiti (Re-enactment) Law 2019

5. Ekiti State Security Trust Fund amendment Law 2019

6. 2019 Local Government Appropriation Law

7. Ekiti State Change of Government Official logo Law 2019

8. Ekiti State Waste Management Authority Repeal Law 2019.

In a related development, Governor Fayemi also made history, as he signed the first ever Administration of Civil Justice into law in Nigeria.

The Federal Government and all other states have the Administration of Criminal Justice Law but this is the first time any government will do same for the Administration of Civil Justice.

Eight laws were signed into law including the Ekiti State Development and Investment Agency, a law to change the Ekiti logo, Anti Land Grabbing Law and the Waste Management Authority law at the valedictory ceremony of the 5th Assembly
