Barcelona a few hours ago added yet another name to the list of their signings, as they confirmed the arrival of young Dutch star and midfielder from Ajax, Frenkie de Jong.
The 21-year-old joins for a fee of £65m (€75m) with a further £9.5m (€11m) in add-ons and has signed a five-year contract until the summer of 2024.
De Jong, whose reported suitors included Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, is considered to be one of the best young players in world football.
According to Marca, a Blaugrana delegation, headed by the president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, travelled to Amsterdam to seal the agreement between the three parties on Wednesday, with the player signing a deal until 2024.
The report also said that the Calatans managed to convince De Jong that he will be a vital cog for the team, moving ahead of both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
As a result, the 21-year-old is set to become the most expensive Dutch player ever, eclipsing the 84.4 million euros paid by Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk.
