Mindy Kaling enjoyed a day at the beach as she celebrated the Fourth of July in her first sighting since announcing she had become a mom of three.
The Office alum, 45, was spotted hitting the waves in Malibu on Thursday in a look that highlighted her incredible physique.
Mindy Kaling rocked a white bathing suit and red shorts paired with a wide-brim straw hat that shielded her from the blazing sunrays.
Mindy Kaling beamed with happiness as she entered the water, letting her legs cool off as she trekked in knee-deep.
The Mindy Project star eventually dried off with a soft teal towel.
The smiles continued on dry land, where Mindy strode about the sand barefoot.
That same day Mindy gave fans a look at her Independence Day celebrations with her three children – daughters Katherine, six, Anne, and son Spencer, three.
‘A sandy/salty skin/no makeup/freezing cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/outside for hours kind of Independence Day,’ she captioned the post.
In one especially touching picture, Mindy could be seen smiling beatifically at the camera while cradling her newborn daughter Anne, whose face was kept out of frame.
Her two other children were pictured playing with their toys in the backyard, then seen in a video as they scampered over the boulders on the beach.
Mindy also included a video that showed an aerial view of little Anne sitting comfortably on her lap as they took in the sea air together.
She clearly made sure the holiday was full of delights for her children, including themed cupcakes with American-flag-colored icing.
The beach day comes over a week after Mindy announced she had welcomed her third child – a daughter named Anne. Mindy gave birth to Anne back in late February following a secret pregnancy.
Kaling announced the joyous news on her 45th birthday, June 24, calling Anne ‘the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined.’
‘In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life,’ the new mother of three posted to Instagram.
‘I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!’
The post included a snap of Mindy’s baby bump, along with a sweet snap of her two other children bonding with their new sibling.
The post also contained an image of Mindy sitting in the hospital bed, surrounded by her two children.
Mindy has yet to disclose the father of her children, and told The New York Times in 2019, before her son was born: ‘My feeling is that, until I speak to my daughter about that, I’m not going to talk to anyone else about it.’
However, her Office co-star, B.J. Novak, is notably godfather to Katherine and Spencer.
In August 2022, Kaling informed Entertainment Tonight , ‘He’s very good with children. He literally wrote a best-selling book called The Book With No Pictures for kids.’
The creator of Never Have I Ever added, ‘It comes very innately to him, you know, like being with children. So he’s a great godfather.’
Rumors have circulated that Novak is the father of Katherine and Spencer, which the actress has shut down.
She previously addressed the speculation during an interview with Marie Claire and revealed, ‘It doesn’t bother me. He’s the godparent to both my kids – and they have such a great relationship.’
The Ocean’s 8 actress previously opened up about her decision to become a mother during an interview with Glamour in 2019, telling the magazine: ‘I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off. I’m happy that it happened when it did.’

She said her late mother Swati – who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012 – was a huge inspiration to her, explaining: ‘For me, my relationship with my mother was such an integral part of my life.
