The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the immediate arrest of Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial zone Senator Kashamu Buruji for allegedly printing and selling of fake PDP nomination forms to the public.

The PDP in a statement released a few hours ago by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbodiyan also called on security agents to hold Senator Kashamu Buruji responsible if there is any breakdown of laws and order in Ogun State PDP, stressing that the Senator is a paid agent of anti-democratic forces of the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilize the party.

The statement as released by the PDP reads:

“Senator Kashamu Buruji is a desperate paid agent of anti-democratic forces working in cohorts with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cause confusion, trigger violence and bloodletting in the 2019 general election and derail our hard-earned democracy

Senator Buruji is an interloper and impostor, who will soon face prosecution for printing and selling fake PDP nomination forms to members of the public, in violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act and the PDP constitution, which vest such powers only on the National Working Committee (NWC).

Senator Buruji will also face the law for conducting phony guber primary in Ogun state, with the name & colors of the PDP, an activity which only the NWC has the powers to conduct & which it had done after which it submitted the name of our guber candidate, Adebutu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

It is instructive to note that under the Electoral Act and the PDP
constitution, only the National Working Committee, and no other organ of the party at the national or state level, is empowered to submit a governorship candidate to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

We therefore urge all security agencies and Nigerians in general to note that Senator Buruji is the aggressor and directly hold him responsible for any breakdown of law and order, since he has given a hint into such inclination by his violent outbursts and threats.”

This is coming only a few days after PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, presented the party’s flag to Mr Ladi Adebutu as the Governorship candidate for Ogun State, as against Senator Kashamu Buruji who is also allegedly parading himself as the PDP Governorship candidate of Ogun State.

Prince Secondus while presenting the party flag, said that the party’s primaries nationwide were monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and names of the PDP candidates were submitted to the commission by leadership of the party in accordance with electoral guidelines, saying:

“Senator Kashamu Buruji cannot come and bend the process. It is criminal for one person to print form and sell the form to himself, conduct congress by himself and submit names to INEC in his signatory,” he said

The Ogun Governorship Candidate, Mr Ladi Adebutu, while speaking on behalf of his colleagues, said he was certain that PDP was “destined by God to deliver the nation from problems it was currently going through.” he said.

Senator Kashamu  has since been expelled from the party pending the conclusion of investigation by the NWC.
