The troops of the Nigerian Army has once again, repelled an attack on Arege in Borno State, neutralising them and recovering some weapons in the process.
In a statement released a few hours ago by the Nigerian Army, the Boko Haram members attempted to infiltrate the Nigerian army of 118 Battalion location at Arege in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday, but met their Waterloo and suffered heavy casualties.
This will not be the first time the Nigerian Army will be recording such victory against Boko Haram, neither will it be the last, as they intensify the fight to totally eliminate the deadly group from the entire North East and the Lake Chad region.
Some of the weapons recovered from the group as released by the Nigerian Army are:
1 x Anti Aircraft Gun,
4 x AK 47 rifles,
1 x Light Machine Gun,
100 x Anti Aircraft Rounds,
185 x Light Machine
Gun Rounds, 4 x AK 47 magazine(54 x AK 47 rounds) and,
1 x MOWAG Propeller.

The statement released by the Nigerian Army on the Arege attack reads:
“Troops Repel Boko Haram Terrorists Attack on Arege in Borno State. Boko Haram Terrorists met their Waterloo and suffered heavy casualties yesterday evening 28 November 2018 when they attempted to infiltrate 118 Battalion location at Arege in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Boko Haram Terrorists were completely routed by the troops, neutralizing many of them while others fled in disarray due to superior firepower. As a result, they hastily evacuated most of their corpses under the cover of darkness.
However, during exploitation of the general area at dawn, the gallant troops discovered 4 Boko Haram Terrorists corpses and recovered the following;
1 x Anti Aircraft Gun, 4 x AK 47 rifles, 1 x Light Machine Gun, 100 x Anti Aircraft Rounds, 185 x Light Machine
Gun Rounds, 4 x AK 47 magazine
(54 x AK 47 rounds, 1 x MOWAG Propeller.
