Independence day celebration is around the corner, as the Nigeria Air Force in preparation to the October 1st 2018 celebrations, is to carry out an aerial display reheasal as part of what the military will be showcasing on that day.

October 1st 1960 was when Nigeria got her independence from her British colonial masters, and since then, the date has become party of Nigeria’s annual celebration and this year will not be any difference.

Since the emergency of Boko Haram the event which normally held at the Eagle Square Abuja with all the fanfare and the breathtaking military displays has been moved to the state House, mostly for security reasons rather than cost.

This year’s wlll  be marked as usual, but what we do not know yet is if it will be at the Eagles Square or just the normal small ceremony at the State House Abuja where the only thing that we see is the parade of change of guards, release of birds by the President and the early morning speech or Presidential address.

The Independence Day celebration which ever way the Government decides to celebrate it, the Nigerian Air Force and the Military in general, will always be involved to display the country’s Military strength and also with the beautiful military parade most of us usually look forward to.

In a statement released on Monday via its social media handle, the Nigerian Air Force says it will be carrying out aerial display as part of activities to mark the country’s 58th Independence Day Celebration coming up on the 1st of October. The statement reads:

Independence: NAF to carry out aerial rehearsal in Abuja
Independence: NAF to carry out
aerial rehearsal in Abujay

NAF will carry out aerial display as part of Nigeria’s 58th Anniversary Celebration. Hence, NAF aircraft would be flying at low level within Abuja during the rehearsals from now till 2 Oct 2018. Members of the public are advised not to panic but go about their normal businesses.
