The Nigerian Air Force has announced the appointment of Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola as their new spokesperson, with immediate effect.
Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola with this appointment as the new Director of Public Relations and Information, will be taking over from Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olatokunbo Adesanya who has been heading the department since 2017.
In a statement released a few hours ago by the Wing Commander for Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Mr. Bassey Okon, said Air Vice Marshal Adesanya would be departing the country following his appointment as Nigeria’s Defence Attache (DA) to Moscow, Russia.
He said the new DOPRI, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola was the Commander, 041 Communications Depot, Shasha, Lagos and a member of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Regular Course 39.
Professional courses
He was commissioned into the NAF as a Regular Combatant officer in September 1991.
“Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola holds a Master of Science Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey, United States of America and a Post Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Air Commodore Daramola also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from NDA and a Certificate de Langue Francais from Alliance Francaise,” the statement stated.
The new DOPRI was said to have attended many military and professional courses, some of which included Electronics Engineering Officers’ Basic Course at 320Technical Training Group, now Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
He was also said to have attended Junior and Senior Staff Courses at the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji in Kaduna.
He also participated at the National Defence Course, National Defence University in Islamabad, Pakistan, apart from several short courses, seminars, and workshops within which he had participated in and outside Nigeria.”
