Fans are expressing mixed reactions to the threats being issued by Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, who goes by the stage name, TEMS, against a Ugandan singer, Bebe Cool, over her arrest in Kampala.
The reactions from fans both within and outside Nigeria, comes a few hours after TEMS took to her official Twitter handle on Friday 18th December 2020, to put out a series of tweets bashing Bebe Cool for planning her arrest, that of her manager, Muyiwa Awomiyi and Omah Lay in Kampala.
While some fans expressed worry and disappointment over the threats and derogatory terms TEMS used in her tweets to described Bebe Cool, others from their tweets, seems to have loved it, as they joined in the dragging of the Ugandan singer, and Uganda as a country.
Some argued that TEMS went too far. Those in support of her and her tweets tweeted in support, as they advise her to not give Bebe Cool the fame he is looking for.
Others said she should have let go of the issue, after her first statement, just like Omah Lay who was arrested alongside herself did.
TEMS had threatened Bebe Cool after her unpleasant experience in Uganda. She had accused the 43-year-old Ugandan singer of masterminding her arrest, and warned him not to step foot in Nigeria, saying:
““Bebe Cool, I swear AVOID Nigeria for the rest of your life. If you ever find out I’m in the same place as you. RUN for your life because I will not be in chains. And nothing will stop me from pouncing on you. You should cut off your dick, it’s clearly too small to be useful,” she said.
This tweets, and some other series of tweets put out by the Nigerian singer, generated reactions such as these:
@IbrahimKatongo2 @BebeCoolUG doesn’t need Nigeria it’s Nigeria that needs him more he is an artist with legit music not most of your stuff tht sounds like an overloaded generator.
𝑴𝒖𝒌𝒚𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒘𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒏 @temsbaby I’m not a fan of @BebeCoolUG but he is my fellow countryman. These people think that they can come to our country and do anything they want. Having Ugandans who support you doesn’t mean that you have a share on our country. If you don’t need him in we don’t need you in
