The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday, after their National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja announced the immediate suspension of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial zone, Senator Buruji Kashamu, and three others from Ogun State on what they called anti-party activities.
Speaking immediately after the NEC meeting, the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the suspension of Senator Kashamu, Mr. Semiu Sodipo, Mr. Bayonne Adebayo and Mr. Segun Seriki takes effect immediately.
Mr. Ologbondiyan explained that the disciplinary action was taken against these people who he said were hobnobbing with the ruling party of the All Progressive Congress and it is unacceptable. He said:
“The party has immediately constituted a committee on harmonization.The responsibility of the Harmonisation Committee is to commence the process of the possibility of the change of name as part of an effort to rebrand our party and to reposition it for 2019 general elections.
So we await the outcome of the Harmonisation Committee.
On the Ekiti governorship election. He said:
“The legal Committee has been constituted under the party’s National Legal Adviser to take all issues bordering on the state election to the court. “
