The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission has hinted that the Commission is now set to reopen the Ekiti State Integrated Poultry Project/Biological Concepts Limited N1.3bn fraud case, which was a 2005 fraud case against the administration of the outgoing Governor of the state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.
The Commission which was reacting to the news of the Governorship election in the state which was won by the All Progressive Congress, and with the knowledge that Mr. Ayodele Fayose will no longer be shielded by the immunity-clause; are now set to drag the soon to be ex-Governor to court over the case and others.
The case which was earlier rumoured to have been discharged and the Governor cleared of any corrupt practice, but later denied by the then Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration, was the case which EFCC have been investigating how Fayose allegedly diverted the total sum of N1.3Billion meant for poultry projects during his first tenure as Governor of the state.
He was alleged to have diverted the huge sum through his Commissioners, wife, Feyi; his deputy, Mrs. Biodun Olujimi; and others.
The case which has dragged for so long will now be reopened as EFFCC suggest on their latest social media post:
