The Oba of Iwoland Oba Abdulrasheed could just be one of the richest Kings in Nigeria, if not Africa, as the Oba a few hours ago, has pledged to spend the sum of 1.5billion naira on medical equipment in Osun State.

The Oba who said the donation of the medical equipment to the selected public hospitals will commence on Thursday is done to complement Government’s effort towards affordable and quality health delivery in the State.

According to the statement released on his Instagram page, the Statement reads:

In a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr. Alli Ibraheem, the monarch said the donation was to complement government’s commitment to quality health delivery in public hospitals, which he said is primarily patronised by the middle class in the society.

He said the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole; Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State; Osun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Usamotu, and the member representing Iwo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, and others are expected at the presentation. “The equipment include electric beds, incubators, mammogram, X-ray machine and some consumables, all of which are first-class grade.

Meanwhile, speaking at the installation of the first Asiwaju of Igbo Assembly in Iwoland, Emeka Odumegwu, the monarch called on the government to relax policies militating against the oneness of the country, such as the state of origin and restriction of political aspiration to one’s immediate environment among others.

He has also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to create and empower an agency that will bring an end to secret societies in the country. He said cult activity is an offshoot of secret societies, saying the two must be fought by President Buhari the same way he fights corruption.

Secret societies are the enemies of Nigerians. I’m appealing to the President to empower a federal agency to be saddled with primary responsibility of penalising members of secret societies.”
