The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has once again, reported 790 new cases of the coronavirus across the country, taking the total confirmed positive cases so far to 26,484.

The NCDC announced on Wednesday 1st July 2020, on its official social media handle that 790 new cases have been recorded in some states of the federation.

The latest figures just like the previous updates from the national public health institute, which is responsible for the prevention, detection and response to infectious disease outbreaks in Nigeria, shows Delta state for the first time with the highest daily positive cases. 

The State recorded the highest number of positive cases out of the 790 new cases confirmed on Wednesday.

The state recorded 166 cases out of the positive cases confirmed on Wednesday, with Lagos state recording 120 cases to rank the second highest.

The update from the national public health institute, also shows that the 790 new cases were recorded in 21 states, including the FCT.

The distribution of these new cases across the 21 states, shows the following:

This figure also showed that about 10,152 patients have been discharged across the federation, with 603 deaths so far.
