The spokesperson for President Buhari’s 2019 presidential campaign Mr. Festus Keyamo has rubbished the Memorandum Of Understanding purportedly signed by the major opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party, and other 37 political parties, calling it nothing but a deceit and show of comedy from PDP as the move is nothing but a membership drive.
The PDP earlier today were joined with other political parties totaling about 37 where they emerged as CUPP in order to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress and president Muhammadu Buhari come 2019. But the Lagos based lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in his latest message on his social media page does not see this new move as a threat to his party APC, as he clearly explains in his tweets:
“Some political parties made up of just husband & wife have signed an MOU with PDP to form a ‘grand coalition’ against PMB in 2019. This is pure deceit. PDP has only succeeded in registering a few more members into its fold. It’s not a ‘grand coalition’. It’s just a membership drive”.
“Nobody is deceived: In 2013 four MAJOR parties with ELECTED govs & parliamentarians fused into ONE whole. The comedy we are seeing now is that PDP has sucked in those ‘briefcase’ parties who are going to drop their identities & support a PDP CANDIDATE. It’s laughable desperation.”
