The former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has bemoaned the spate of killings in Nigeria, as he calls for the Federal Government to end the killings by living up to their primary responsibility of protecting lives and property.
The former number two man in the country and now a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and a possible Presidential candidate of the party in the next coming Presidential election in 2019, a few hours ago, said this on his social media page.
Atiku Abubakar who has seen his page turned into almost a condolence register, as barely a day goes buy he does not put up a condolence message to victims of attacks around the country, as the killings are now happening on a daily basis. While reacting to the Plateau killings, he sent in his condolence to the people especially those in Barkin Ladi Local Government. He said:
Mindless killings in our country, we cannot be in continuous mode of bloodletting & mourning. Government needs to be alive to its primary responsibility of protection of lives and property. My heart goes to the victims of Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State
