The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on May 3, 2019, arraigned one Dan Yakubu before Justice Hajiya Asmau of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Lugbe on a one-count for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N3,000,000 (Three million naira).
Dan Yakubu was arrested after the EFCC acted on a petition alleging that he received the said sum from his victim as payment for the supply of gold and household items, but defaulted. He, however, failed to refund the money.
He pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.
Justice Asmau has adjourned the matter to May 28, 2019, for hearing, and ordered the remand of the defendant in EFCC custody.
