The 2019 campaign spokesperson to President Buhari and a Senior Advocate, Mr Festus Keyamo has called the public outcry by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the alleged threat to his life as nothing but a childish prank.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria while reacting to the allegations raised by the former President said the former Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party is only seeking for sympathy and nothing more.

Keyamo said the motive behind the former President’s public outcry could not be far-fetched. He asked why did the former President wait till President Buhari’s declaration of  June 12 as the new Democracy day thereby cancelling the may 29th in which Obasanjo himself was sworn in as the  President in 1999 before coming out with his ‘childish prank’.

He also said that it was now when President Buhari is beginning to receive commendation both within and outside the country that Obasanjo came out with this allegations.

Festus Keyamo who took to his social media handle to explain what is behind Obasanjo’s outcry said:

OBJ’s outcry is for two reasons: 1. To attract unearned sympathy to himself in order to deflect the damage d immortalisation of June 12 has done to his image as d main antagonist of Abiola’s mandate & 2. to dampen d accolades going d way of PMB over d issue. It’s childish prank.

It’s unpatriotic & callous for anyone who didn’t question whether the President in 1993 had constitutional powers to annul the will of the people at that time to rise up now to question whether the President has constitutional powers to restore the will of the people at this time.
