The former Super Eagles technical adviser that helped Nigeria to win the first ever Gold Medal in an Olympic football game, Bonfere Jo finally presented with keys to his house 24-years after.

The Presentation which was done by Minister of Works, Housing and Power Mr Babatunde Fashola at his Abuja office, apologized to the Dutchman for the delay.

The minister said for reasons they cannot understand from the previous government that made the pledge, while the other Super Eagles players and coaches got their own houses, the Dutchman was left out. He said the Muhammadu Buhari led government is correcting the error.

24 years ago, the Nigeria Super Eagles Team that won the 1994 Nations Cup were given houses by the President. For some reason, Bonfrere Jo, the Assistant Technical Adviser of that team, never got his own. Until this week when the Muhammadu Buhari Administration fulfilled a 24-year-old pledge.

Nigeria won the first ever football gold medal at the USA 1996 Olympics two years after their fantastic outing at the 1994 world cup. Nigeria beat the likes of Argentina and Brazil to win the gold medal.
