The Speaker of the Nigerian House Of Representatives, Honourable Dogara has taken a huge swipe at the Nigerian Police. The Speaker who was at the Presidential Villa with Senate’s President, Senator Bukola Saraki on a brief meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, labelled the Nigerian Police as upgraded Barbarians.
Honourable Dogora who was visibly pained at the way and manner the Inspector General Of Police Idris and his men have acted in the last few days, especially towards National Assembly members. The Speaker frowned at a case in point being that of Senator Dino Melaye, where he likens their actions towards the Senator to that of a Clan of Tribesmen with acts of upgraded barbarians.
The speaker after their meeting with the President, which was a kind of a peace meeting between the Legislature and the executive for a smooth running of the All Progressives Congress Government, was accosted by Journalist at the Villa where he spoke of how he wants the executive to follow the rule of law in carrying out their duties.
He said the country is practising democracy and the Nigerian police must operate within the ambit of rule of law and due process. After which he added that it is unacceptable for Nigerian Police to continue to operate like a clan of tribesmen, a sort of upgraded barbarians.
Hmmm, those were definitely harsh words coming from the Speaker. But I am sure Jimoh Moshood will by now be looking at the Nigerian Constitution to cite a section to counter this allegation….lol
…we are loving it and waiting for the Nigerian Police to reply… Lol
