A suspected phone snatcher, has been rescued by the men of the Rapid Response Squad unit of the Lagos State Police Command from a possible jungle justice from an angry mob, authorities of the Command reports.
According to the statement released by the Lagos State Police Command Rapid Response Squad unit, the suspected phone snatcher who was identified as a 25-year-old Chinedu Ike was rescued by the patrol team of the Police Rapid Response Squad sometime in September, 2022 at the Iyana Oworo area of the state.
The suspected phone snatcher escaped jungle justice over the theft of a phone.
“He was beaten to a coma by eyewitnesses before he was rushed to the hospital by the team. He was discharged after some days,” the statement by police authority in the state stated.
2On Monday, using his usual style, he sneaked into a parked car to steal the driver’s phone. He was arrested by our team when those who knew Chinedu hinted the driver to check his phone. Our team recovered the driver’s Infinix Note 10 from Chinedu’s bag. He has been sentenced,” the statement added.
