PHOTO: NFF Remembers The Death Of Late Super Eagles Star Olubayo Adefemi Using The Wrong Date

The Nigeria Football Federation remembers one of their own even in death, late Olubayo Adefemi who died on this day 18th April 2011. The late Adefemi who was part of those that won the Olympic silver medal in Korea, died in 2011 in Greece in a car accident while driving to catch a flight to Nigeria for his wedding.

The late U23 Super Eagles player was part of those that won the Beijing 2008 Olympic Silver medal and also represented Nigeria in the FIFA U20 World cup in 2005, where Nigeria came second behind Messi and Argentina.

In their remembrance message, the NFF taking to their social media with this message:

On this day in 2005 we lost @ng_supereagles and Olympic Silver Medalist Olubayo Adefemi. May his soul continue to rest in peace. #WeRememberAdefemi – #regran

Did you see the date the NFF used? Theirs says 2005, while the actual date is 2011, as the player died at age 26 and not 20 as claimed by the NFF. He was born on the 13th August 1985 and died April 18th, 2011 in Greece. NFF get your facts right, please!
