President Muhammadu Buhari was earlier today (Sunday) pictured with former finance minister Dr Ngozi-Okonjo Iweala at the ongoing African Union summit in Mauritania. The president from the photos can be seen having a friendly chat with the minister who was a key actor in the former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The former minister was one time accused by the All Progressives Congress National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole of being corrupt, and even called for her probe over some financial mismanagement, which he alleged the former minister spearheaded during the last administration. But the Minister challenged the then Edo State Governor, with documents backing her claims, and the case between then have since died down.

The allegation of the Dasuki gate issue, the fuel subsidy case, excess crude oil account which the governors then shared, and so many other issues that are still being addressed by the Buhari administration, all bothering on corruption issues. But the former minister who unlike others made sure every that was being done or asked to be done by the then President Jonathan, made sure documents were signed and backed by the Presidency.

All the directives as regards monies released in previous administration as she has maintained both during and after leaving office were all sanctioned by the President, as since she is not a politician, she had to follow instructions. She also said that Nigerian politicians are not interested in saving for raining days, which was one of the reasons Nigeria experienced one of the worse recession in recent time.

President Buhari left for Mauritania since on Saturday for the summit, where he will be speaking on security issues, and most importantly on corruption and how it can be tackled and the challenges. See more photos
