High Cost Of Living: Seyi Tinubu Please Beg Your Father For Us - Mercy Aigbe

Actress Mercy Aigbe has added her voice to the economic hardship millions of Nigerians are currently experiencing, calling on the son of the President, Seyi Tinubu to help speak to his father on the true situation of things on the ground.

Mercy Aigbe for is rarely known to speak on national issues on her social media, surprised millions of her followers when on Monday 19th February 2024, she took to her page to post a video (which we cannot substantiate) where some women were seen hustling for food being distributed by a volunteer group.

She posted the video with a caption that reads

People are hungry! People are dying! People are going out of their minds!

The present situation of the country is TERRIBLE! The government should please, please we are begging, they should do something about this economic hardship! It’s UNBEARABLE @officialasiwabubat.

@seyitibubu please beg your father for us! o to ge!!!,” she captioned the video.

While some of her fans have been reacting to her post, it is coming a few hours after a video surfaced online showing some Nigerians protesting in Oyo State capital, Ibadan over the high cost of living.

The protest broke out in Ibadan over the high cost of living, food inflation, and the current economic hardship in the country on Monday.

Staged in the Mokola area of Ibadan, the state capital, placard-carrying youths in their droves chanted songs to drive home their points.

Some of the placards have inscriptions such as ‘End food hike and inflation’, ‘The poor is starving’, ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’, amongst others.

Armed policemen were seen at the protest scene even as demonstrators held the peaceful rally against the economic hardship in the land occasioned by the removal of petrol subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange windows.

The police had on Sunday warned that no breach of peace would be allowed during any protest in the state.

The protest in Oyo followed others in Kano, Minna, amongst others, over economic hardship occasioned by petrol subsidy removal, food inflation, and high cost of living.
