The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission seems to be taking the fight against corruption to the grassroots. The Commission in its quest to create enlightenment of Nigerians, especially the youth.
The Commission has created a professional football team to catch them young and create awareness against corruption and other social vices.
The Chairman of the Commission Mr Magu while unveiling the jersey for EFCC FC, said in a statement that the Commission’s target is to inculcate football as a strategy to fighting corruption. He said:
“Football as a sport is not new and we take delight in various sporting activities, this is the reason why we want to inculcate football as a strategy to fight corruption.”
…But my question is, what is the relationship between football and fighting corruption? will that stop corruption…
The Commission to me, need to focus more on providing staff with the adequate and modern form of training, especially on intelligence gathering so it can effectively carry out its mandate…we need to see looters go to jail and spend decades there for looting our commonwealth…well, following the rule of law though…only sound and well-trained officers can bring about this sir.
This is just too much distraction for me…If na Charity make we know…definitely not a Corporate Social Responsibility..
