Halle Berry is a proud mom as her daughter Nahla prepares for the next stage in her academic career.
On Monday evening the 59-year-old Oscar-winning actress used Instagram Stories to congratulate her 17-year-old daughter on her early college acceptance.
Halle Berry presented the teenager with a celebratory pink Sweet Lady Jani cake reading: ‘You did it, Nahla!!’
Halle wrote under the brief video, ‘Congratulations to my sweet angel Nahla for her early college acceptance!’
Early action is an admissions route in which high school seniors submit application materials early in the school year, typically no later than early November, per College Vine.
Nahla is already proving to be an overachiever as she’s made an early decision on where she will continue her education following high school graduation.
Halle Berry didn’t disclose which school her daughter will be attending next year, nor did she share an image of her daughter.
She maintains her daughter’s privacy by opting not to post photos of her face, though she occasionally includes her in social media posts.
The star shares Nahla, her firstborn child, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey, 49.
She is also mom to son Maceo-Robert, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Olivier Martinez.
The silver screen siren has been in a relationship with 55-year-old musician Van Hunt since 2020.
Halle Berry previously revealed in June that her daughter was enrolled in a college summer initiative.
While visiting the Today show, she shared, ‘She’s 17. She’s going to a college summer program, the college that she’s hoping to go to next year.’
The Monster’s Ball sensation also said, ‘I’m not one of these moms that feels like, “Oh, she’s leaving.” Yes, will I worry? Of course.
‘But am I excited for her to start her life and figure out who she’s gonna be? Absolutely. I’m dying to see who she’s gonna be and what she’s gonna do and what she’ll discover.’
And when she visited the show in September 2024, she revealed that Nahla was nursing a broken heart.
She said at the time, ‘We’ve all been there. We know that in six months’ time, she’s going to forget about it, yeah?
‘But in this moment, it’s the single most important thing to be rejected and have a breakup, and she feels like she’s dying, and so a little part of me is dying, too.’
‘I have to just say, “Yeah, this sucks, right? And this sucks balls. I know. And you’re hurt.” I just have to sit in it with her, right? And that’s really hard to do,’ she added.
The actress was locked in a yearslong child support battle with Nahla’s dad, resulting in being ordered by LA Superior Court to pay him $16,000/month plus a lump sum of $115,000 in LA Superior Court in 2014.
In 2021 she succeeded in slashing the figure to $8,000/month, but was made to pay him an additional 4.3 percent of any annual income she made over $1.95million.
